Speaker: Mr. Bruce Parker, Motorola Corp. "Annual AFCEA Scholarship Awards Luncheon" May 27, 1999

The May luncheon of the Erie Canal Chapter was the Annual Scholarship Awards Luncheon. Six students attending college or starting college in the fall received awards of up to $1000.00 towards their school costs for a total of $5500.00 in awards. Criteria for selection included: grades in school subjects, honors received, class standing, and standardized test scores. Eligible subject majors were: engineering, science, and mathematics. Winners present included: Timothy Leong, Annamarie Hinman, Jennifer Warzala, Craig Valente, and Divya Bhat. Unable to attend was Steven Ross. Making the presentations was Mr. Bruce Parker, Motorola Corp., Scholarship Evaluation Chairman. Mr. Rudy Zuberbuhler, MEI Technology Corp., evaluation team member who assisted in presenting the awards.
