"NYSTEC Impact on Rome Research Site & New York State."

The AFCEA January luncheon featured a presentation by Mr. Edwin Schreiner, President of the New York State Technology Enterprise Corporation (NYSTEC). NYSTEC was created by the State of New York to provide a mechanism to transition technology from the Air Force Research Laboratory's Rome Research Stie to enhance the business environment of Central New York. In five years NYSTEC has become a $10M business enterprise infusing Air Force dual use technology into the state's business community.

Also announced at the meeting was the awarding of the Teaching Tool award to the Westmorland Central School District. Science teacher, Mr. J.D. Mondrick, will use the $1000.00 award to kick start "Project Lead The Way," to introduce pre-engineering course materials and experiments to the 11th and 12th grade students. Mr. Mondrick will be invited to speak at a future luncheon to give an update of the progress in Project Lead The Way.
