The Erie Canal Chapter Scholarships are awarded to assist deserving students in furthering their educational objectives. Their program of study must lead to a degree in electronics, electrical engineering, communications, computer engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or information technology. |
In 2008, the Erie Canal Chapter will award scholarships for full-time undergraduate or graduate study with individual
awards from $500 to $3000. Scholarships will be awarded to both college students and high school seniors.
Included in this scholarship program is a special Syracuse Research Corporation (SRC) sponsored scholarship
that is available to students who will be attending and who are currently enrolled at the State University of New York
Institute of Technology (SUNY/IT), in Utica, New York.
Awards are based upon the relationship cited in the first paragraph, demonstrated academic performance, potential, honors,
community service, work history, and extracurricular activities. All awards are made on the basis of merit. Applicants must
meet the following Eligibility Requirements to be considered:
The scholarships will be paid directly to the winners. A one-year AFCEA membership and free subscription to Signal Magazine will be included.

Applications, including letters of recommendation (must be signed and dated), must be typed or computer generated, and received by the AFCEA Secretary by close of business 30 March 2008, to be considered. Scholarships will be announced and awards made at the AFCEA Scholarship Luncheon in May 2008.
